Classic story, The Emperors New Clothes, was written in the 1830’s by Danish writer, Hans Christian Anderson. Seeing what’s going on in the Christian realm and what’s going on, The Emperor’s New Clothes came to mind.
The story begins with a pompous king who spends lavishly on clothing in spite of the current state of the town that was in bad state.
Irrational Reality
His irrational obsession for new clothing was a disconnected and delusional perspective of reality. This reminds me of the far left’s disconnected reality of real issues in America. Issues like homelessness overrun cities in California, New York, Hawaii, Albuquerque, etc… while governor’s of that city live in cushy mansions, paid for by “the people”.
Going along with my other blog, Head In The Sand, much of disconnected reality is going on today. The Emperor’s New Clothes is a perfect metaphor of the Head In The Sand syndrome.
However, the disconnection that I’m not writing about today will be solely about what’s going on in the world but what’s going on in the church.
Emperor’s New Clothes In The Church
My wife and I were talking about this the other night where we remember when “Seeker Sensitive” churches began to take a rise.
Back then, a lot of people were still “churched” and for the most part, it was much more of an antic than it was considered a “real” church.
For those of you who don’t know what a seeker sensitive church is, it’s a church that purposely, for the sake of attendance (bodies sitting in their church), that refuses to say Jesus or mention the name of Jesus in a church service. It is basically a social club under the guise of “Christian” church.
That was 10 years ago. Fast forward to today, that anti-Christ spirit has morphed into names like grace-based, love-all, all inclusive (regardless of religion), etc… infiltrating the church.
It’s an evil deception that has robbed unbelievers of the power and deliverance of God’s redeeming blood of the cross.
“Don’t Judge Me”???
The power of this evil deception has been launched against humanity under the disguise, “Don’t judge me.”
This lie says, “No one has the right to tell me what I can and can’t do.” Those in this camp are playing with fire. It’s a rather scary place to be.
This path leads to the entryway of, what the bible describes as, the searing of the conscious. Sin becomes ordinarily normal behavior rather than wrong.
But it doesn’t end there. Now this craziness has gone into offensive mode now to attack and accuse believers of being racist when he or she disagrees, for example, with an ungodly homosexual lifestyle.
Again, another example of The Emperor’s New Clothes in action.
God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve or Samantha and Eve.
The bible says…
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Genesis 1:27 NKJV
The biggest problem with the “don’t judge me” lie is that it’s a false powerless answer to what only God could do. It robs and enslaves those that hold to this false idea because it keeps them from the saving and redeeming truth of the cross.
Sin Is Not Normal
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.“
Romans 6:23 NKJV
Sin is normal for the unbeliever because until you received the Lord we were dead in sin. But for the believer, sin is abnormal. We’ve been redeemed, delivered and sanctified from sin. A dead body can’t jump up and say, “Ouch!” when prodded with a fork. So can’t we, dead to sin, sin any longer if our flesh is dead.
But regardless of whether you’re a believer or not, sin is a respecter of no persons. Sinning and the continuation of kills or brings to death everything in one’s life.
You may not see the full extent of the evidenced effects of sins power to destroy but check back with that person in a few months, a year, or a few years and you will see a dramatic change in that person, not in a good way.
The Root Of The Problem
Sin is the root of humanity’s problems. Counseling, medication, meditation, or whatever is out there cannot fix this.
Let’s take a look at what the bible has to say about redemption, grace and the power of the cross.
‘For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.’
Ephesians 2:8-9 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/EPH.2.8-9
I’ve heard someone say regarding grace and the difference between grace and mercy.
Grace is getting what we don’t deserve. We, in our sinful nature part from God don’t deserve to live. But Jesus changed that and took our place so that we could gain eternal life with Him.
Mercy is not receiving what we deserved. We deserved to die in our sins but that was not God’s plan for us. He loved us so much that He said, “No, you’re going to live in eternity with me in heaven. I’m sending Jesus, my only son in your place so that you can be forgiven.”
God’s Grace, Freely Given But Not FREE
When it comes to God’s grace there is a grave deception to the interpretation of God’s grace.
First of all, grace is a gift given to us by God Ephesians 2:8.
If it is a gift there is nothing we can do to earn it. If someone gives you a $10 bill to bless you and you turn around and say let me wash your car for it. The gift then no longer becomes a gift but earnings.
Secondly, Jesus gave His life for us as payment for our sins. We can never pay for this priceless act of God’s unconditional love for us.
God’s live, yes, is freely given to all but it was not free. It cost Jesus His life.
How can people trample God’s love saying, “Don’t judge me” and continue to sin as if the cross was a meaningless act.
Grace is not a license to sin but payment so that we can gain eternity.
How dare they?
False grace is the equivalence in concept of how countless millions of American lives were sacrificed for the sake of the American freedoms we all enjoy today including those individuals who are enemies to America that want to destroy America.
Soldiers who fought for America are the only one’s with full rights to be outraged with the American freedoms being trodden upon as meaningless.
Grace is not free. It is freely given to us who receive it but the cost was not free.
It’s because of Him and not because of us, who inherently by nature and in and of ourselves have no capacity to save ourselves, that we walk in and are beneficiaries of God’s grace, salvation and redemption.
The attack on the “price paid” and creating false narratives is The Emperor’s New Clothes in action.
Strange Fire
So what are we seeing with many mega churches who’s sole purpose is to increase in numbers, exclude Jesus in sermons, and omit the Holy Spirit from being the CEO of the true church of Jesus Christ?
In the book of Leviticus, the bible talks about Aaron’s two sons who offered sacrifices that God did not tell them to offer.
It says:
‘Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord . And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy. And before all the people I must be glorified.’ ” So Aaron held his peace.’
Leviticus 10:1-3 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/LEV.10.1-3
But I Was Inspired
What are spoken in these churches that the Lord hasn’t said to be spoken? Did God say to do that? Has the Lord said, “Don’t say that to brother Tom.” If God is saying so than who is?
I’ve been a Christian for a really long time. I’ve had my fair share of “far out” expressions under the name of Christianity that were not from Him.
As a Christian musician, I got saved in a time when Christian music was stuck in old outdated hymns. It was just breaking through into a more modern sound while maintaining true worship to Him.
Fast forward 30 years later, we have perfectly recorded and mastered “Christian” music. However, worship has been replaced with performance.
“Our alters to God have been replaced with stages.”
Mario Murillo
All of the above is nothing but modern day “strange fire”. God is done with this and the new generation of His remnant revivalist will not put up with or stand for this.
God is shaking things. He’s going down to the roots of years of evil corruption and uprooting them.
He talks about this in Hebrews 12:27
You’re seeing this manifest in Washington. And you’re also seeing this in the church.
It Gets Worse Before It’s Great
God’s prophecy for America and Trump did come to pass. Trump did win the election. Now the timeline for the full evidence of him serving out his term is on God’s timeline.
I believe what is happening now is God is His masterful plan. God’s ways are higher than our ways. When we sit what we would do in a particular situation next to God’s ways, our plans sometimes oppose His.
The deep state is indeed deep and God is getting all the way down to the root(s). He’s doing major surgery. It’s getting ugly. If you read and follow God’s pattern in the bible, there’s almost a dark season before the glory.
It almost always gets worse before it gets better. Read Isaiah 53 and see how Jesus when through being wounded, beaten, whipped and scourged.
His disciples left Him. He was spit on. He was mocked. The bible also describes how He was marred beyond description. Yet it was all God’s plan. It didn’t look good for the disciples.
However, the end was victory and abundant life in eternity beyond what we can imagine or think for them and for all of us today who believe in Jesus.
We have so much that we don’t even know in the bible that God’s given to us through His son. Read the entire chapter of Isaiah 53 and you’ll see God’s darkness before the light pattern.
The False Narrative (Wokeness)
So back to the emperor’s new clothes, the story continues with the two con men that knew about the king’s lavish taste for exotic and eccentric clothing.
The two plot a scam to tell the king that they would design an outfit that the uneducated, foolish, nobody’s, etc… would see the clothes as invisible.
The king thrilled with the idea says yes and the scammers setup their looms and put on their show. The officials walk into their room and saw that the looms were empty.
Regardless, no one dared to say anything for the sake of not being named foolish. Even the king came in and said nothing.
Doesn’t this narrative sound familiar?
Most in the camp of the far left see that racism is not the real problem. They know that Trump was not responsible for the incitement of violence. They know that the second impeachment of Trump is insanity. But they’ve bought the goods sold to them. After all, they can’t admit it without looking like they’re foolish or dumb and can’t see the “king’s clothing”.
The good thing is that many have left their camp because they just can’t continue to believe the “Emperor’s New Clothes” narrative.
The King Was Naked
But it doesn’t end there. The king proceeded with the con job and had them go on with dressing him with the “invisible” clothing.
The king goes on to have a parade and shows off his “new clothes”. The people gasp but dare not say anything for the sake of not seeming stupid or inept.
Finally a kid goes, “Hey mommy, why is the king naked?”
The crowd, then realizing that they were fooled, causes a great commotion. The king is startled but then in foolish pride, instead of admitting that he was fooled, flaunts his “invisible” clothing even further.
Stupidity at it’s greatest? Insanity at it’s best?
Sound familiar?
Yes, The Emperor’s New Clothes In The Church
Whatever your conclusion is, this grave deception has crept into the church as well.
Strange fire has hit the church but people are going along with it for the sake of not looking like an “idiot” or being deemed as, “one that just doesn’t get it”. All the while, “The jokes on you buddy!” The emperor’s new clothes on steroids.
Don’t Be Fooled
So what’s the answer to this craziness going on in the world and in the church?
Read and know His word. Spend your time daily with Him in prayer and in His word.
‘Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.’
Ephesians 5:6-7 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/EPH.5.6-7
Do you know how an expert that can identify counterfeit currency distinguishes a fake from the real?
Some may say, “Study the counterfeits.” Although this may be a logical solutions that is not what they do.
Experts of counterfeit currency identification spend hours and hours studying the real currency.
Just as the expert above, spending time with Him and reading His word builds our expertise on discerning the fake from the real spoken Word of God.
Jesus said…
‘My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ‘
John 10:27 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/JHN.10.27
We should know what God says about living out our Christian walk with Him.
‘Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ‘
II Timothy 2:15 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/2TI.2.15
And if we don’t know something, we should turn to His word. It’s not just a story book with a lot of historical information or plain old good advice. It’s living and God’s today spoken word to us.
‘All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness ‘
II Timothy 3:16 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/2TI.3.16
In Conclusion
The takeaway to this blog is that we are living in very critical but exciting times. God is doing a work that we have never seen before. Be an informed Christian. Don’t believe everything but test the spirit.
‘Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. ‘
I Thessalonians 5:20-21 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/1TH.5.20-21
Keep praying. Read His word daily. Be fierce and vigilant in doing this. I would even say be militant in keeping yourself in Him and what He is saying.
Why? Because the devil is vigilant and militant in attempting to make you fall into his schemes.
‘Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. ‘
I Peter 5:8 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/1PE.5.8
The difference is that we have God on our side and we’re doing it out of His power. The devils power in comparison to God’s is power-less. That is, of course when we’re walking in the Spirit.
