Caught in the act. Jesus displays one of the most perfect examples of God’s mercy and grace. In the story of the woman caught in the very act of adultery, we see this in full display. We see this in the book of John chapter 8.
Today, we live in a world of great extremes. The pharisees and scribes brought the woman caught “in the act” of committing adultery.
First of all, how sick is that? The pharisees and scribes didn’t care about the act of adultery. They purposefully went out to find this woman to exploit the act hoping to have something to accuse Jesus of, John 8:6.
Sound familiar? BLM is not even a cause for the black community but exists to spread an ungodly agenda. There’s a cancelling everything that stands for godliness and wholesomeness in America.
Jesus knew their schemes and I love how He just ignored them continuing to write on the ground. When they were done with their demands to kill this woman by stoning, Jesus looks up and says…
“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
John 8:7
A New Pharisee & Scribe – In Defense Of The Caught
Now let’s swing over to the other extreme. On this end, we see the “excusers” of sin. In this camp they cry, “Don’t judge me.” Or “You’re a bigot, homophobe, judgemental, …”
We went from the extreme of judgement to no judgement at all. I talked about the extreme denial of the spiritual state that we’re in the Head In the Sand article I wrote.
Jesus died so that we can be set free. Here’s what He told the woman caught in adultery…
‘So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
John 8:7,11
Yes, Jesus said, “I don’t condemn you.” But look at what else He said. He said…
“SIN NO MORE”
What? Yes! He used the “R” word. What’s the R word? Repent. He told the woman to repent and sin no more. So, we now we see a third element in this story. This not a neutral point of view. No, this is the correct viewpoint. Jesus gave us the perfect way to deal with sin. Here, we see His love, compassion and mercy. But we also see even more, His love to tell the woman to not to sin any longer.
Repentance
We all know that if you don’t acknowledge that you have a problem then you can’t fix it. What’s even worse is denying that there is a problem. But not only denying it, but fighting tooth and nail in defending the wrong. That is a scary place to be and that is what we’re seeing today.
Instead of repenting, they’re fighting to enslave people into fighting against anything that opposes the freedom to sin.
Repentance is the only way to true freedom once mercy and grace has been established. That’s what Jesus did in this story.
But Why Fight Something Good
Why do you think this is so? You say this doesn’t make any sense. Yes, but there’s a good reason for the fight and resistance.
The liberal left thinks that if chaos thrives and people are unrepentant then they can control people’s narrative and beliefs. They falsely attribute their fight “for” the people but the reality is that they only want the power and control over people.
Here’s what a famous socialist gave as his reason for cancelling culture and values that keep people thriving…

“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with it’s unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.”
ADOLPH HITLER (1889-1945)
Like Pharisees and scribes, they didn’t care if Jesus executed righteous judgement. So what was the real reason they attacked Him to the point of His murder. Because, they were threatened that they would lose the power and control they had over the people.
But I Go And Prepare A Place For You
Jesus was not after political authority. His agenda, however, was of another world. Jesus had heaven for us in mind. And His ultimate goal is to have us all living with Him forever in eternity in the “place that He is preparing for us.”
‘In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.’
John 14:2-3
Heaven and us in it is His ultimate goal. If you haven’t received Him as your Lord and Savior you can do so right now. Just believe in your heart and pray this prayer. Pray,
“Dear Lord, I come to you as a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins and rose again to take my place and pay the penalty for my sin so that I can receive the gift of eternal life that you’ve provided. So, Forgive me of all my sins. Wash me and cleanse me. I thank you for that and I receive you today. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
If you prayed that prayer, congratulations! Receiving Him is that simple. He already did the work on the cross. There is nothing that we can do to earn His salvation. It was paid by His blood. The only thing we can do is receive it. And because you’ve prayed this prayer, you are now born again, a new creation. But it doesn’t end there.
So now what?
So, now you start living by talking to Him daily and reading the bible, His written word to us. The bible instructs us in living this new life.
‘All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, ‘
II Timothy 3:16
God Bless You!
